FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Ty Brady is tied for third at 4-under-par 136 (66–70), pacing Utah Valley University on the opening day of the Ram Masters Invitational at Fort Collins Country Club.
The Wolverines are in fourth place at 6-over 566 (281–285) in the 16-team field. Host Colorado State leads the tournament at even-par 560 (278–282).
Brady opened with a 4-under 66 that featured six birdies and an eagle on the 580-yard, par-5 15th. He followed with an even-par 70 that included two birdies and an eagle on the 575-yard, par-5 first. He is three shots behind leader Davis McDowell of UC San Diego.
Paxton Maxwell is tied for 10th after carding an even-par 140 (69–71). He posted three birdies in round one and five more in round two, including four on the front nine.
Colby Hutchens is tied for 23rd at 3-over-par 145 (73–72) after making five birdies in the afternoon. Andrew Hawk, competing as an individual, shot 147 (76–71) and is tied for 70th.
Isaiah Ellis is tied for 57th at 150 (75–75), while JJ Tomsick is tied for 70th at 151 (80–71).
