ARLINGTON, Texas — Utah Valley University senior midfielder
Marie Quentel has been named the Jersey Mike's A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Quentel provided a spark off the bench in UVU's dramatic 4-3 comeback win at Weber State on Monday night, recording three points on a goal and an assist. With the Wolverines trailing 3-1 in the second half, she cut the deficit in the 64th minute with a left-footed strike inside the right post. Just four minutes later, Quentel set up the equalizer with a well-placed corner kick as Utah Valley rallied from a pair of two-goal deficits to secure the road victory.
It is Quentel's first career WAC weekly honor, and she becomes UVU's fifth Jersey Mike's A Sub Above WAC Player of the Week honoree this season. The recognition also marks the Wolverines' sixth WAC Player of the Week honor in 2025, joining earlier awards for
Faith Webber (Sept. 9),
Ruby Hladek (Aug. 26), and
Taylor Nelson and
Leah Wolf (both Aug. 19), with Wolf also honored on Sept. 9.
Utah Valley now travels to Logan to take on Utah State in its final nonconference match of the season on Thursday, Sept. 18, at Chuck and Gloria Bell Soccer Field. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. MT, and the game will be streamed live on the Mountain West Network.
