ARLINGTON, Texas — Utah Valley redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Kolby Sessions and sophomore midfielder Isaac Emojong have been named the WAC Goalkeeper and Offensive Player of the Week for the matchweek ending Sept. 1, the league announced on Tuesday.
Sessions, a native of Holladay, Utah, earned the second player of the week honor of his collegiate career and his first as a Wolverine after helping the Wolverine defense to a pair of clean sheets last week over FGCU and Omaha. Sessions made a pair of saves in each, including a leaping tip over the crossbar off of a close-range header against FGCU and a diving save against Omaha to preserve what was a scoreless draw at the time. Sessions has been an important cog in the Wolverine defense that has started the 2025 season with a program-record four straight shutouts. Sessions' first player of the week honors came last season at Saint Mary's, when he had a career-high eight saves in a shutout of San José State.
Emojong, a native of Davis, Calif., earned the first player of the week honor of his collegiate career after extending his goal contribution streak to four with an assist on Thursday against FGCU and a goal at Omaha on Sunday. For the second straight year, Emojong has started the campaign with a goal contribution in each of the first four games of the season. Emojong's three goals are tied for the team lead with Lewis Knecht.
Sessions, Emojong, and the Wolverines return to action on Thursday, welcoming a future conference foe to UCCU Stadium in the Sacramento State Hornets. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m. MDT, and tickets can be purchased at GoUVU.com/MSOCtix.
