Utah Valley's Hladek Invited to Seattle Reign FC Preseason Camp

1/21/2026 3:32:00 PM

OREM—Utah Valley University forward Ruby Hladek has been invited to Seattle Reign FC's preseason camp as a non-roster invitee ahead of the 2026 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) season. The opportunity places Hladek in one of the league's most competitive preseason environments as she pursues a professional career.

"I feel very confident that Seattle will be thrilled with their decision to bring Ruby into their preseason camp," said Utah Valley head coach Chris Lemay. "Knowing Ruby and the level, my expectation is that she will be very successful in the NWSL. Ruby will put her head down and work, the rest will take care of itself. We will be cheering her on and can't wait to watch all of her growth at the professional level."

Hladek, a senior from Ladera Ranch, California, is coming off a breakout 2025 season in which she earned WAC Offensive Player of the Year honors and First Team All-WAC recognition while helping lead Utah Valley to a 14–5–3 record, a fourth straight WAC regular-season championship and an at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament. The Wolverines fell 2–1 in overtime at No. 12 Colorado in the NCAA Tournament's first round.

A creative, high-volume attacking presence, Hladek finished the 2025 season with 15 goals and 13 assists while ranking among the nation's statistical leaders. She finished sixth nationally in total assists (13), eighth in total points (43) and 11th in assists per game (0.59), while also ranking second in the WAC in goals and points. Utah Valley finished the year top-three nationally in total goals, total points, scoring offense, assists per game, shots per game and shots on goal per game.

Hladek also earned significant postseason honors following the season. She was selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Third Team, earned United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America honors, was named First Team All-Pacific Region, and finished the year ranked No. 40 on the TopDrawerSoccer Postseason Top-100 Players List. She concluded her UVU career as the program's all-time assists leader with 32.

Seattle Reign FC announced its 2026 preseason roster on Wednesday, listing 29 players reporting to camp, including 25 players signed through the 2026 season and four non-roster invitees. Hladek was named as one of three forward non-roster invitees joining the Reign following their collegiate careers.
