INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA announced its first coaches' ranking for the 2026 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships and Utah Valley University has six wrestlers ranked among the top 33 in their weight class. It marks the first time since 2019 that the Wolverines have had six wrestlers in the rankings.
To be eligible for the coaches' ranking, wrestlers must have at least eight Division I matches with at least one in the last 30 days.
141-pound
Haiden Drury is ranked 15th in the panel to lead the way for UVU. Drury leads the team with a 17-5 record on the season.
David Evans is No. 16 at 149 pounds and has ranked wins in both of his last two matches with both coming in Big 12 duals. Evans is 11-4 on the season.
Jack Forbes, who is coming off of two upset wins against South Dakota State and Missouri that propelled him into the rankings for the first time, is No. 27 at 285 pounds. He is 13-8 overall this season and 7-2 in duals.
Kael Bennie is 28th at 197 pounds,
Caleb Uhlenhopp is No. 31 at 184, and
Mark Takara is ranked for the first time in any poll this season and comes in at No. 32.
The coaches' ranking is one of several criteria that will be evaluated by the NCAA Division I Wrestling Committee during the at-large selection and seeding process along with head-to-head competition, quality wins, Ratings Percentage Index (RPI), conference tournament placement, results versus common opponents and win percentage.
The 2026 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships takes place March 19-21 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, marking the third time the city will host.
