Maxwell Records Fifth Straight Top-10 at Loyola Intercollegiate

GOODYEAR, Ariz. — Paxton Maxwell recorded his fifth consecutive top-10 finish, tying for 10th place at the Loyola Intercollegiate on Tuesday at Palm Valley Golf Club with a three-round score of 9-under-par 207 (65-71-71).

Maxwell closed the tournament with a final-round 1-under-par 71. He tallied three birdies on the back nine and added 13 pars to secure his top-10 result on the 119-player leaderboard.

"He's playing some really high-level golf this season," said Utah Valley head coach Chris Curran. "It's been really fun to watch him grow as a player."

As a team, Utah Valley shot a 2-over-par 290 in Tuesday's final round to finish tied for 15th place on the 20-team leaderboard with a three-round total of 8-over-par 872 (291-291-290). Richmond claimed the team title at 34-under-par 830 (280-276-274).

Ty Brady carded a 1-over-par 73 in the final round to tie for 68th place at 3-over-par 219 (74-72-73). Brady recorded five birdies on Tuesday, including three on the front nine.

Isaiah Ellis also shot a 1-over-par 73 to finish tied for 89th at 7-over-par 223 (73-77-73). Ellis tallied five birdies in the final round.

Colby Hutchens matched Ellis with a 1-over-par 73 and tied for 89th at 7-over-par 223 (79-71-73). Hutchens recorded four birdies Tuesday, including three on the front nine.

JJ Tomsick posted a 4-over-par 76 in the final round to finish tied for 116th at 19-over-par 235 (79-80-76).

Utah Valley will next compete at The Nick Watney Invitational, March 2-3, at San Joaquin Country Club in Fresno, California. The tournament is hosted by Fresno State.
