OREM, Utah – Utah Valley women's basketball, winners of its last two games, will look to extend its winning streak Saturday, Feb. 21, at 1 p.m. MT against UT Arlington inside the UCCU Center. The game will be UVU's annual Play4Kay Pink Game. The game will not be broadcast, but fans can follow along via live stats at GoUVU.com/stats.
LAST TIME OUT
The Wolverines upset first-place California Baptist on Wednesday night in Riverside. The win marked the program's first-ever victory at CBU.
Gracie Sorenson scored a career-high 17 points while shooting 6 of 10 from the field, also a career mark for the senior from Syracuse.
Amanda Barcello added 16 points while shooting 3 of 4 from 3-point range, and
Cambree Blackham finished with 13 points, eight assists and four rebounds.
Utah Valley shot 45.8% from the field and went 7 of 11 (63.6%) in the fourth quarter.
ABOUT UT ARLINGTON
The Lady Mavs are making their only trip to Orem this season and are 2-0 against the Wolverines this year. They have lost three straight games, including a 60-58 loss to Utah Tech on Wednesday night in St. George.
UTA is led by Kira Reynolds, who averages 13 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. She had 17 points and eight rebounds in the last meeting and was joined by Laura Bello, who added 17 points and nine rebounds, including five offensive rebounds.
The Lady Mavs will look to slow down Blackham, who averages more than 16 points per game in her four career games against UTA.
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST UTA
This will be the eighth all-time meeting between the two programs, with UTA holding a 5-2 advantage in the series. The Wolverines are 2-1 all-time in games played in Orem, including an 86-75 win in January 2025.
Blackham scored 23 points with six assists in that game, while her sister,
Ally Criddle, scored 18 points with eight assists.
ABOUT PLAY4KAY
The Play4Kay game is an annual event supported by the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Yow served as head coach at North Carolina State from 1975 to 2009, earning more than 700 career victories and being inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2002. She died in 2009 after a 22-year battle with breast cancer.
