3/6/2026 7:51:00 PM

ST. GEORGE, Utah—Top-seeded Utah Valley will close out the regular season on Saturday night when the Wolverines travel to face Utah Tech in the Old Hammer Rivalry at Burns Arena. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.

Utah Valley enters the game with a 23–7 overall record and a 13–4 mark in Western Athletic Conference play after defeating Southern Utah earlier this week to secure its second straight WAC regular-season championship. The Wolverines have now won back-to-back WAC titles under head coach Todd Phillips, who is a finalist for the 2025–26 Hugh Durham Award, presented annually to the top mid-major coach in Division I men's basketball. Phillips is the only coach in UVU history to lead a team to back-to-back WAC titles.

The Wolverines have been one of the most efficient teams in the nation this season, ranking among the national leaders in assists, steals, field-goal percentage, blocks and scoring margin. Utah Valley also leads the WAC in several key categories, including assists per game, blocks per game, field-goal percentage and scoring defense.

Utah Valley has been led by redshirt sophomore forward Jackson Holcombe, who paces the team in scoring (15.4 ppg), rebounding (7.2 rpg), steals (69) and blocks (41). Holcombe recently set a new Utah Valley single-season record with 69 steals and has been named to the Lou Henson Award Watch List, which honors the nation's top mid-major player.

Redshirt junior guard Trevan Leonhardt continues to orchestrate the Wolverine offense and recently broke his own single-season school record for assists. Leonhardt currently has 179 assists on the year, surpassing the previous mark of 178 that he set last season. He also ranks second all-time in Utah Valley history in both career assists and career steals.

Utah Valley will be looking to carry momentum into next week's WAC Tournament in Las Vegas, where the Wolverines have secured the No. 1 seed and a bye into the tournament semifinals.

Utah Tech enters Saturday's matchup with a 6–11 WAC record and will be playing its final home game of the season at Burns Arena.

Saturday's game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ and over the airwaves on the Wolverine Sports Network/ESPN The Fan.
