ARLINGTON, Texas — Utah Valley sophomore Lily Riley has been named the WAC Pitcher of the Week for the game week ending on March 8, the league announced in a press release on Monday.
Riley continued her dominant form over the weekend with two impressive outings against the Pacific Tigers, tossing 16.1 innings, striking out 11 and allowing three ER to earn the win in both. On Sunday, Riley tossed a 10-inning complete game — the longest outing in UVU's Division I history and fifth-longest in the country so far this season — as the Wolverines outlasted the Tigers, 5-3.
Entering Monday, Riley leads the WAC in ERA at 2.20, and is tied for 13th in the nation in wins with nine. Riley needs just two more victories to crack the top 10 for a single season in program history.
Utah Valley wraps up its NorCal road trip with a game against UC Davis later this afternoon at 4:30 p.m. MT, then faces future Big West rival Sacramento State tomorrow at noon MT. Both games will air live on ESPN+, with live stats available at
