ARLINGTON, Texas — Utah Valley's Eme Stout and Maddie Passmore have been named the WAC Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the meet week ending March 29th, the league announced in a press release on Wednesday.
Stout, a freshman sprinter from Saratoga Springs, Utah, ran a new personal best of 11.74 in the 100-meter dash on Thursday, a time that ranks fifth-best in program history and is third-fastest in the WAC so far this season. Stout also ran the final leg of the 4x100, helping the Wolverines to a time of 46.62 and a second-place finish.
Passmore, a junior jumps specialist from Clovis, Calif., had a very successful day on Thursday, matching the school record in the triple jump with a mark of 12.26m and winning the long jump with a season best of 5.98m. Passmore now owns at least a share of both the indoor and outdoor triple jump records.
Stout, Passmore, and the Wolverines will be at three separate meets this weekend, the UNLV Rebel ELITE in Las Vegas, as well as the Stanford Invitational and Mike Fanelli Track Classic in the Bay Area, on April 3 and 4.
