UVU Women’s Basketball Signs Lauren Johnson for 2026-27

OREM, Utah — Utah Valley continues to make additions to its 2026-27 women's basketball roster. UVU head coach Dan Nielson has announced the addition of former Utah Tech forward Lauren Johnson.

"We are thrilled to add Lauren to our program. She brings a great ability to score inside while also stretching the floor with her shooting. Her rebounding will be a huge asset for us next season, too. She is exactly what we want in a player, both on and off the floor. I have no doubt she will thrive in our system!"

Johnson played the last two years at Utah Tech in St. George, where she appeared in 31 games, including 16 starts, during the 2025-26 season. She finished the year averaging 8.2 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. As a sophomore, she secured 171 total rebounds, which ranked ninth all-time in the Utah Tech record books.

Prior to Utah Tech, Johnson played one season at Utah State, where she appeared in 19 games and made three starts. A Canadian native, she played her final season of high school basketball at Perry High School in Gilbert, Arizona. She helped the Pumas to a 26-3 record with a first-place finish in the region. Her team went on to a state semifinal appearance.
