OREM, Utah— Utah Valley University freshman forward Marisol Stosich has been called up to the Guatemala Women's National Team for a training camp and international friendly against El Salvador on June 9 in Guatemala City.
Stosich is one of 24 players selected to Guatemala's senior national team training camp under head coach Karla Maya. The camp runs June 1-9 and will conclude with an international match against El Salvador at Estadio Revolución.
"We are very excited for Marisol—she has worked really hard to earn this opportunity," said Utah Valley head coach Chris Lemay. "Guatemala is getting a true finisher. I am sure that she will impact in the attacking areas with her willingness to work and ability to show up in dangerous spaces."
Stosich joined the Utah Valley program in January and trained with the Wolverines throughout the spring season as the team prepared for the 2026 campaign and its first season in The Big West Conference this fall.
A native of Meridian, Idaho, Stosich arrives at Utah Valley after establishing herself as one of the most prolific scorers in Idaho high school soccer history. She totaled 101 goals, 34 assists and 236 points during her prep career while earning Freshman of the Year honors in 2022, three first team all-state selections and four first team all-conference honors. She helped lead Thunder Ridge, Boise High and Mountain View High School to multiple state tournament appearances, including a trip to the state championship match.
At the club level, Stosich competed for Boise Thorns ECNL and Renegades, helping her teams earn success on both the regional and national stages. She was part of USYS regional championship teams, Presidents Cup national championship squads and multiple Far West Olympic Development Program title-winning teams. During the 2023-24 ECNL season, she scored 16 goals and earned Best XI honors at the ECNL National Finals.
The national team call-up continues a growing international résumé for Stosich, who was first named to Guatemala's senior national team player pool at age 16. She earned four previous call-ups before arriving at Utah Valley and now returns to represent Guatemala at the senior national team level.
Off the field, Stosich founded the Happy Feet Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting children in Guatemala. She has also coached youth soccer players and remains actively involved in service opportunities connected to the country.
The Guatemala-El Salvador international friendly is scheduled for June 9 at 3 p.m. local time in Guatemala City.
