OREM, Utah— Utah Valley women's golf head coach Juli Erekson has announced the signing of sophomore transfer Adley Nelson, who comes to Utah Valley after spending her freshman season at Weber State University last year.

A native of Highland, Utah, Nelson brings collegiate experience and a proven track record after appearing in nine tournaments during her freshman campaign at Weber State. She posted a 75.72 scoring average, recorded three top-20 finishes, and carded five rounds of even par or better during her first season of collegiate competition.

"We couldn't be more excited to add Adley to our women's golf program," Erekson said. "She brings a proven competitive mindset, with her successful freshman year at Weber State, and valuable experience. Most importantly, she is a great fit for the culture and values of our team. We look forward to seeing the impact she will have on our program and are excited to welcome her to the Wolverine family."

Nelson made an immediate impact during her freshman collegiate season. She opened her career with a tie for 17th place at the Wolverine Invitational after rounds of 73, 73, and 71 for a 1-over-par total of 217. She later posted a season-best ninth-place finish at the Utah Fall Intercollegiate, highlighted by an even-par final round of 72.

She also tied for 16th place at the Lady Thunderbird Invitational with rounds of 77, 76, and 72 for a 9-over-par 225 and finished tied for 29th at the Sun Mountain Intercollegiate. Nelson added a 21st-place finish at the Red Rocks Invitational, where she fired a season-best 3-under-par 69 in the opening round on her way to a 7-over-par total of 223.

Prior to her collegiate career, Nelson starred at Lone Peak High School, where she helped lead the Knights to the 2022 Utah 6A State Championship.

A three-time all-state selection, Nelson earned First Team All-State honors in both 2023 and 2024 after being named Second Team All-State in 2022. She ranked among the top 10 golfers in her region each season from 2022-24 and enjoyed an outstanding senior campaign in 2024.

During her final prep season, Nelson recorded four top-five finishes, including runner-up results at the Utah 6A State High School Championships and the Utah PGA Utah County Rumble. She also placed sixth at the Utah Women's Open and advanced to the semifinals of the 2024 Utah State Junior Amateur Championship.

Nelson joins a Utah Valley team that is coming off a strong 2025-26 campaign and is preparing for its first season in the Big West Conference in 2026-27.
