OREM—The Utah Valley University women's golf team opens its 2026-27 season as the Wolverines host the Wolverine Invitational, Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 14-15, at TalonsCove Golf Club in Saratoga Springs, Utah.
UPCOMING
Utah Valley will open its first season as a member of The Big West at the Wolverine Invitational. The Wolverines will compete against a field that includes Weber State, Eastern Washington, Utah Tech, Cal State Bakersfield, Southern Utah, Portland State, Idaho State, Wyoming and Idaho. BYU will also have individuals competing at the event.
UVU will feature a new-look roster to begin the season, with Mia Pace and Maria Ortiz returning to the lineup. Adley Nelson, Sydney Richards and Rachel Lillywhite will round out Utah Valley's five-player lineup, while Whitni Johnson, Kaylee Westfall, Saydie Wagner and Eliza Zolman will compete as individuals.

With those two returners and a few local standout transfers joining the team, we're excited to see what we can do this year."
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The field will compete in a 54-hole tournament, with 36 holes scheduled for Monday followed by the final 18 holes on Tuesday. Monday's opening two rounds will begin with an 8 a.m. MT shotgun start with continuous play into the second round. Tuesday's final round will also begin with an 8 a.m. MT shotgun start.
Team scoring will follow a play-five, count-four format, with the four lowest individual scores counting toward the team total each round.
COURSE INFORMATION
TalonsCove Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course located along the shores of Utah Lake in Saratoga Springs. Designed by Gene Bates and opened in 2003, the course has previously hosted the Utah Open and Korn Ferry Tour Monday qualifiers.

Utah Valley's lineup for the Wolverine Invitational includes Adley Nelson, Sydney Richards, Rachel Lillywhite, Maria Ortiz and Mia Pace.
Pace and Ortiz return for the Wolverines, while Nelson, Richards and Lillywhite will make their Utah Valley debuts. Whitni Johnson, Kaylee Westfall, Saydie Wagner and Eliza Zolman will also represent UVU in the tournament as individuals.
