OREM, Utah — Utah Valley Track and Field head coach Scott Houle has announced the signing of two-time All-American, five-time WAC Champion, and 2024-25 WAC Joe Kearney Award winner Gabe Remy, who returns to Orem after spending the 2025-26 season at Texas.
"We're excited to welcome Gabe Remy back to UVU," said Utah Valley associate head coach and sprints coach Paul Smith. "He's a proven competitor with championship experience, and we're thrilled to have him back in a Wolverine uniform!"
A native of West Jordan, Utah, Remy returns to Utah Valley after running his junior season with the Longhorns. Remy earned the second All-America honor of his collegiate career after helping Texas to a 13th-place finish in the 4x100m. Remy ran the prelims in Fayetteville, Ark., then was an alternate at the NCAA Championships.
One of the most decorated athletes in program history, Remy capped off the first part of his Wolverine career with a 10th-place finish in the 4x100m relay at the 2025 NCAA Championships to earn second team All-America honors. In that same season, he also qualified for Regionals in the 100m and 200m after running school-record times of 10.09 and 20.41 to win the WAC championship in each and help the Wolverine men to their first outdoor team title since 2019.
Overall, Remy has claimed five conference championships, winning a pair of 4x100m titles in 2024 and 2025, the 100m and 200m in 2025, and the 60m at the 2024 indoor championships, one of just two men in program history to win gold in the event all-time. Remy was named the WAC's Joe Kearney Award winner at the conclusion of the 2024-25 athletics year as the league's top overall male athlete.
