OREM—Utah Valley University women's soccer continues its season-opening four-match homestand on Monday, Aug. 24, as the Wolverines welcome in-state rival Utah State to UCCU Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. MT.
The match will be the second half of a Utah Valley soccer doubleheader at UCCU Stadium. The Wolverine men will host Central Arkansas at 5 p.m., followed by the women's match against Utah State at 7:30 p.m.
Monday night's match will be streamed live on ESPN+ with Brandon Crow and former Wolverine Amber Tripp on the call.
Utah Valley enters the match with a 0-1-1 record after opening the season with a 1-1 draw against Michigan before falling 2-0 to Utah on Aug. 17. The Wolverines will be playing their third consecutive home match to begin the 2026 season.
Utah Valley was forced to play the remainder of its match against Utah with 10 players after freshman goalkeeper Madeleine Boucher was shown a red card in the 43rd minute. The Utes broke through with goals in the 63rd and 82nd minutes to secure the win. Sam Curtis led UVU with three shots, including two on goal, while Kate Booth also recorded three shots with one on frame.
Boucher will serve an automatic one-match suspension against Utah State and will be eligible to return against No. 12 Kansas on Aug. 27. Fifth-year defender Isa Agrusso returns against Utah State after serving a one-match suspension against Utah following a red card in the season opener against Michigan.
Through its first two matches, Utah Valley has outshot its opponents 26-25 and holds a 16-9 advantage in corner kicks. The Wolverines are averaging 13 shots per match, with Addie Olson and Kate Booth leading the team with four shots apiece. Olson has scored UVU's lone goal of the season, while Sam Curtis has the Wolverines' lone assist.
Utah State enters Monday night's match with a 1-1-1 record after earning its first win of the season with a 2-0 shutout of Portland on Thursday in Logan. The Aggies opened the season with a 2-0 loss at No. 15 Kansas before playing Michigan to a 2-2 draw and have outshot their opponents 33-24 through three matches. Utah State is in its sixth season under head coach Manny Martins and its first season in the Pac-12 after spending the previous 13 seasons in the Mountain West. The Aggies were picked to win the Pac-12 in the league's preseason coaches' poll and have received goals from Mia Lopez, Mia Mullenmeister, Kunie Hirai and Samantha Sellers this season.
Monday night marks the 11th all-time meeting between Utah Valley and Utah State. The Aggies lead the series 8-2 and have won each of the last three meetings. Utah State won last season's matchup 2-0 in Logan and earned a 3-0 victory in Orem in 2024. UVU's most recent win in the series came on Aug. 28, 2015, when the Wolverines earned a 1-0 victory in Orem.
Utah Valley is ranked No. 4 in the first United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I West Region Poll of the season. The Wolverines are one of four Big West programs in the West Region top 10, joining No. 1 UC Santa Barbara, No. 2 Cal Poly and No. 8 Long Beach State.
The Wolverines are in their first season as members of The Big West after competing in the WAC since 2013. Utah Valley enters its new league after winning four consecutive WAC regular-season championships from 2022-25.
