OREM, Utah — Utah Valley University wrestling head coach Adam Hall has announced the return of Jason Chamberlain to the Wolverine coaching staff.

Chamberlain previously served as an assistant coach at UVU under Greg Williams during the 2021-22 season after spending five seasons coaching at Fresno State. Since 2024, he has served as the head coach of the Brunson Utah Valley Regional Training Center.

"Jason is an elite-level coach who has guided athletes to All-American status and was a proven winner as a competitor at the national and world level," Hall said. "His rich experience and knowledge of the sport will provide an immediate impact in our room. He has already been a part of our program as our regional training center head coach, so our student-athletes are familiar with him. As a Utah native, he will also connect us even more to the community. It's a great day to be adding Jason to our staff, and I look forward to seeing him elevate our room. Go Wolverines!"

A Springville, Utah, native, Chamberlain was a four-time Utah state champion, U.S. Senior and Junior National Champion, Fargo National Champion and Dave Schultz Award winner during his prep career.

Chamberlain went on to become a two-time All-American and 2013 national runner-up at Boise State University, where he competed alongside Hall and UVU assistant coach Andrew Hochstrasser. All three were two-time All-Americans while with the Broncos. Chamberlain also won three Pac-12 titles with the Broncos and recorded more than 100 career victories. In 2013, he was named Pac-12 Wrestler of the Year and Pac-12 Male Athlete of the Year.

Following his collegiate career, Chamberlain continued competing in freestyle wrestling. He won the Pan American Championship in 2015 and the U.S. Open national championship in 2018. He was also the 2014 silver medalist at the Paris Grand Prix, a two-time U.S. Olympic Team Trials qualifier, a Final X runner-up, a member of the U.S. National Team and a World Team alternate.

"I never really left wrestling, but I did step away from college coaching for a while," Chamberlain said. "My oldest always talks about and remembers when I was competing and coaching, but my middle was too young to remember, and my youngest has never gotten to experience the wrestling world, so it's pretty special for me to let them all be a part of it now.

"When the opportunity at UVU came up, it just felt like the right time to get back into it. I'm excited to be around the guys again, be in the room and be part of a college program in my home state. Coaching the RTC athletes the last two years has made the appointment seamless, and I'm excited to continue helping in that area as well.

"My favorite thing about any sport is continuing to learn and grow, as a competitor and as a coach. The time away gave me perspective, and now I'm back, recharged and ready for what's ahead at UVU Wrestling. I'm also excited that I get to coach alongside some of my former teammates."

Chamberlain and his wife, Abbey, are the parents of three children: Violet, Kitt and Jaylen.
