Biography

At Utah Valley...

Senior (2016): Finished third (25:07.6) at the 2016 WAC Cross Country Championships en route to earning First Team All-WAC... helped UVU to runner-up finish at WAC Championships… placed 93rd at the NCAA Mountain Regionals with a time of 33:59.1 in the 10K…  clocked a 25:21.9 at the Indiana State Pre-National Invitational for a 111th-place finish in the 8K… was fifth in the 6K at the SUU Color Country Invitational with a time of 18:22.70… guided squad to first-ever victory at the Notre Dame Invitational in the five-mile Gold Race with his fourth-place finish (24:40.0)… finished sixth in the 8K at the UC Riverside Invitational with a time of 24.22.6… ran his best career mile pace in the 7K at Utah State’s Sagebrush Invitational and finished second (20:58.55)… Fall 2016 Academic All-WAC... named WAC Athlete of the Week for the weeks of Aug. 30-Sept. 5 and Sept. 27-Oct. 3... selected UVU's outstanding cross country athlete at the Wolverine Club Awards... nominated for scholar athlete of the year... served as team captain.

Junior (2015): Earned individual WAC Champion title running a time of 23:58.86 in the 8K race..named WAC Male Runner of the Year... first team All-WAC... helped Wolverines to a WAC Championship...Academic All-WAC honors.. helped the Wolverines to a 35th place finish at the Pre-National Invitational with a time of 24:35.9 on the 8K course...Finished in 86th at the Roy Griak Invitational with a time of  26:43 (8K course)...Finished in 13th at the BYU Autumn Classic (20:49.4, four mile course)... received the Perry Homes Scholar Athlete Award... served as team captain.

Redshirt (2014): Redshirted 2014 season.. Competed unattached at Utah State, BYU, UNLV and SUU... Finished in first overall at Utah State (6.8K, 20:42)... Earned first overall unattached at BYU invite (4 mile, 20:14)...finished in first overall at UNLV (6.3K, 18:54.2)... first overall at SUU (6K, 19:54)... served as team captain.

Sophomore (2013): Earned Academic All-WAC honors...Was named the first ever WAC Athlete of the Week for UVU for week of Aug. 26-Sept. 1...Participated in seven races for the Wolverines, finishing with four top-5 finishes, including placing 5th at the WAC Championships (25:40.1)...Placed 3rd (19:42.8) at the Color Country invitational in Cedar City, Utah...Placed 2nd (20:55.9) in the Utah State Invitational...Placed 67th (31:23.1) at the NCAA Mountain Region Championships.

Freshman (2009): Named the Great West Conference Male Newcomer of the Year...Named to the GWC First Team All-Conference...Named the GWC Men's Runner of the Week on Sept. 9, 2009...Was UVU's top finisher at the Wyoming Invitational in Laramie, Wyo. as he placed sixth overall with a time of 22:24.3 (4.25 miles)...Placed sixth at the GWC Cross Country Championships at famed Van Cortland Park in the Bronx, N.Y. with a time of 26:37.6 (8K) and helped his team win its first conference championship.

Before Utah Valley...
Prepped at Hillcrest HIgh School...Placed second at 5A State Cross Country Championships...Named All-Region and All-State...Was a Region 2 Champion...High school team placed second in Region and fourth in State...Also played football in high school.

Personal...
Graduated from Hillcrest High School in 2009 with a 3.9 GPA...Was on the Honor Roll and the National Honor Society...Double majored in math and exercise science and minored in Portugese...Sister Nicole Lynch played basketball at Westminster...Also recruited by Yale, Brown, Utah State, SUU, and La Verne...Parents are Jeff and Suzanne.
