Troyce Solley

Troyce Solley, MS, ATC, LAT enters his fourth year at Utah Valley University and serves as Associate Head Athletic Trainer with primary responsibility for the men’s basketball program. Solley joined UVU in September 2023 after spending 11 years at Campbell University in North Carolina.

In his role with Utah Valley men’s basketball, Solley has been part of the program’s recent championship success, including back-to-back 25-win seasons and consecutive outright Western Athletic Conference regular-season championships in 2024–25 and 2025–26.

In 2025–26, Solley helped support a Utah Valley team that finished 25-9 overall and 14-4 in WAC play, captured its second straight outright conference championship, earned the No. 1 seed in the WAC Tournament, advanced to the championship game for the second consecutive season, and made its second straight appearance in the National Invitation Tournament. The season marked the first time in program history UVU posted back-to-back 25-win campaigns.

At Campbell, Solley worked with the men’s basketball and golf programs and served eight years as the department’s Head Athletic Trainer. In that role, he supervised sports medicine services for 19 Olympic sports and served as the primary liaison and coordinator among the university health center staff, Campbell’s primary care sports medicine physician, physical therapy department, Olympic sports performance staff, and outside orthopedic, cardiology, and imaging providers.

Prior to joining the Campbell staff, Solley spent four years from 2008–12 as an assistant athletic trainer at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas. At SFA, he was responsible for the health care of the Lumberjacks men’s basketball, cheerleading, and dance programs. He also served as a mentor for the volleyball graduate assistant athletic trainer and as an approved clinical instructor for the master’s entry-level athletic training education program.

A native of Bloomburg, Texas, Solley spent two years from 2006–08 as an assistant athletic trainer at St. Edward’s University in Austin. At St. Edward’s, he provided care for the men’s basketball, women’s soccer, cheerleading, and tennis programs.

Solley earned his Master of Science in Physiology of Exercise from the University of Texas at Arlington, where he spent two years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer. At UTA, Solley was responsible for the track and field programs and coordinated coverage for numerous meets, including the 2008 Southland Conference Outdoor Championships.

During his undergraduate career at Texas State, Solley completed clinical experiences with numerous Division I Texas State athletics teams as well as a semester at Canyon High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in exercise and sports science with an athletic training emphasis in 2004.

Solley holds certifications and licensures through the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, the Utah Department of Professional Licensing, the Texas Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers, the American Red Cross, and the American Heart Association.

He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Utah Athletic Trainers’ Association, College Athletic Trainers Society, and Rocky Mountain Athletic Trainers’ Association.
