Andrew Nelson

Andrew Nelson enters his 15th season at Utah Valley University. He was born and raised in Seattle Washington. He attended BYU where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training in 2000. He then earned a Master’s Degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Oregon in 2002. Upon graduation, Nelson fulfilled a season long internship with the Seattle Mariners Organization.

After which he spent one year with the Milwaukee Brewers’ Rookie League team in Arizona and 2 years with the Seattle Mariners’ High Class A affiliate in San Bernardino California. Nelson began working at UVU in the fall of 2005 as the head athletic trainer. Nelson has experience working in various physical therapy clinics and at different high schools and volunteered at the 2002 Winter Olympics. 

Nelson is married to Jessica and has four children Raeley, Brooklyn, Tanner and Miles. Nelson is an avid rock climber and loves the outdoors.  He also loves animals, with a pet dog, cat, chinchilla and six chickens at home.
