  • Title
    Volunteer Goalkeeper Coach
Ashley Armstrong begins her first season as a volunteer assistant goalkeeper coach for the Utah Valley University women's soccer team.

"Ashley comes to our program with great experience and pedigree," said Lemay. "We are really excited to add her to our staff and look forward to her working with our four keepers. She is a great on-field coach that will allow our players to be in the best training environment."

Armstrong serves as the director of goalkeeping for the Utah Storm Soccer Club and is currently the head coach of the '07 Utah Storm girls' premier team. She is a member of the Utah Youth Soccer Association Olympic Development program staff and also on the staff of the East Region Olympic Development program.

The Castle Rock, Colorado native has also had a lot of success coaching at the high school level as she most recently led Mountain Vista High School (Colorado) to the state championship in 2017.

Armstrong was a standout goalkeeper at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs from 2008-09. She also played two seasons in the box at Dana College where she earned Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) all-conference honors.

She was a member of the United Soccer Coaches' 30 under 30 program class of 2017-18. The program recognizes the top young coaches in the nation, selecting 30 total honorees from around the nation. Collegiate, junior college and club coaches are all represented on the final list, making the recognition extremely difficult to attain.

Armstrong earned a bachelor's degree in sport management from UCCS and a master's degree in soccer coaching from Ohio University. She holds a United States Soccer Federation B License, along with a United Soccer Coaches (USC) advanced national goalkeeping diploma and a USC premier diploma.
