LEWISTON, Idaho - The Utah Valley State baseball team lost 15-1 to Gonzaga in the final day of the Banana Belt Tournament on Saturday. The Wolverines finished the four-game tournament with a 1-3 record.
Utah Valley trailed 15-0 before scoring its only run in the top of the ninth inning. Dan Bulow scored the only run after he doubled to center field. Kevin Hashimoto scored Bulow one batter later.
"We had a chance to score runs early, but instead we gave them runs in the first two innings,"Â said Coach Steve Gardner. "And we don't have the ability to come from behind right now."
The Wolverines are back in action on Tuesday March 8th at 3:00 p.m. when they travel to Provo to take on Brigham Young in the first ever meeting between the schools that sit less than six miles apart.
