Wolverines Drop Final Game of 2005 Season

GREELEY, Colorado - Utah Valley State dropped its third straight game in the Division-I Independent Invitational and finished the 2005 season on a sour note after losing a late lead and falling 9-6 to South Dakota State. The Wolverines led 6-5 going into the bottom of the seventh, but two runs in both the seventh and eighth gave the Jackrabbits the come from behind win.

Kory Drew finished off the season well individually as he went 4-for-5 in his final college game and finished the season with a .333 average and was named to the All-Invitational Team. Drew led Utah Valley State with 79 hits in 2005.

Kevin Hashimoto tied Drew for second on the team with a .333 average after going 3-for-4 in his final college baseball game. Eli Slesk finishes with the top average (.367) after going 1-for-4 against South Dakota. Slesk finished the year hitting in 17 of the last 18 ballgames.

The team's top home run hitter, Dan Bulow, finished with 15 but broke his foot against Arizona State and didn't play in the final seven games of the year.

Trent Perry finished as the team leader in RBI's (57) and doubles (21).
