OREM - Volleyball returns to the Shurian Family Activity Center this weekend as the Utah Valley University women's volleyball team (3-7) hosts back-to-back matches against Cal State Bakersfield (9-7) Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Wolverines are 3-0 at home this season and recently knocked off in-state rival Weber State in five sets to remain perfect in Orem. Sophomore Kayli Broadbent leads the team with 74 kills this season and an average of 3.50 kills per set. Junior Kristin Anderson is second on the team with 79 kills and an average of 2.26 per set, and she also leads the team in total blocks with 46 and an average of 1.46 per set.

Utah Valley is 3-0 against Bakersfield overall. The teams last meeting occurred on Nov. 17, 2007 when UVU swept CSUB in Orem to win the Independent Championship. The other two meetings occurred almost exactly one year ago when the Wolverines beat the Runners in back-to-back matches in Bakersfield, Calif., on Oct. 12 and 13, 2007.

The Roadrunners are 9-7 on the year and will play one more match at Weber State Thursday before coming to Orem to face the Wolverines. Senior outside hitter Sarah Norman and senior middle blocker Rosemary Stribling lead the Runners with 187 and 179 kills, respectively. Stribling also leads the team with 31 total blocks on the season.
