Live VideoOREM, Utah--The Utah Valley University women's soccer team travels to Seattle, Wash. this week to play in the 2014 WAC Women's Soccer Tournament. The Wolverines take the No. 3 seed into the tournament and will take on sixth-seeded Texas-Pan American in the quarterfinal matchup on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. (MT) at Seattle U's Championship Field.
A Utah Valley win on Thursday would advance the team to play second-seeded Missouri-Kansas City in the semifinals on Friday at 8:30 p.m. MT. The championship match is set for Sunday at 2 p.m. MT. The winner of the tournament will receive the WAC's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
ABOUT UTAH VALLEYUtah Valley is 12-6-2 overall and the team finished in a tie with Grand Canyon for third place in the WAC with a 7-3-0 record. The Wolverines wrapped up regular season play last week at home with a 2-0 loss to Seattle U. Prior to Saturday's loss to the Redhawks, UVU had won four straight matches. Utah Valley has won seven of its last nine matches.

Jessica Duffin is the WAC leader with nine shutouts. She holds a 0.83 goals against average as she has allowed only 17 goals this year.
WAC TOURNAMENTFor a second consecutive year, Utah Valley enters the WAC Tournament as the No. 3 seed. The Wolverines dropped a 2-0 decision to No. 2 seed Missouri-Kansas City at last year's WAC Tournament in Las Cruces. This year's tournament field has been expanded from four to six teams with the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds receiving byes into the semifinals. This year, the Wolverines will play a quarterfinal game against No. 6 seed Texas-Pan American.

Jessica Duffin set the Utah Valley single season shutout record this season as she now has nine clean sheets, breaking the previous record of four shutouts in a single season set by
Lauren Sack (2010, 13),
Tasha Bell (2009) and Amberlee Nelson (2003). As a team, Utah Valley has broken the single season shutout record with nine this year. The 2010 team recorded held the previous record with eight shutouts. UVU is also just one victory away from breaking the single season team wins record of 12, set in 2011.
WOLVERINES REMAIN IN NSCAA WEST DIVISION TOP-10 POLLUtah Valley appears in the NSCAA/Continental Tire West Division Top-10 Poll for the seventh week this season as the Wolverines fell two spots to No. 9 in the latest poll. Utah Valley made its debut at No. 6 in the Sept. 16 version of the poll for the first time in program history. Utah Valley sits just behind WAC foe Seattle U (No. 8) and ranks a spot ahead of Gonzaga in this week's poll.
SPREADING THE WEALTHThirteen different Utah Valley players have registered a goal this year and 13 different players have recorded an assist. Seventeen Wolverines have tallied at least one point this season.
HOME CROWD ADVANTAGEThe Wolverines rank No. 22 in the national in accumulated attendance this season. Through its 10 home games this year, Utah Valley enjoyed 9,493 fans, an average of 791 a game. The results had an impact, as the Wolverines went 8-2-2 at Clyde Field this year. UVU holds an all-time record of 52-31-8 on the home pitch.
ABOUT THE OPPOSITIONFirst-year program Texas-Pan American enters its first-ever WAC Tournament as the No. 6 seed. The Broncs currently hold an 8-8-4 overall record. The team wrapped up its inagural season in the WAC with a 2-7-1 record to finish in seventh place. The Broncs snuck into the WAC Tournament because Grand Canyon, who finished in a tie for third place in the WAC, is not yet eligible for tournament play because of its transition into Division I.
Freshman midfielder Andreya Barrera leads the Broncs this season with eight goals. She also leads the team with 20 points. Freshman midfielder Aimie Inthoulay has six goals, four assists and 16 points on the season. Nine different Broncs have recorded a goal this season.
LAST MEETING VS. UTPAThe Wolverines shutout Texas-Pan American 5-0 in the first-ever meeting between the two teams on Oct. 17 in Edinburg, Texas. The five goals mark the most goals Utah Valley has scored in a game this season.
