Baseball drops second straight to Broncs

April 12, 2014

OREM, Utah -- Utah Valley University struggled from the get-go in dropping its second straight to Texas-Pan American, 13-0, in seven innings on Saturday night at Brent Brown Ballpark.

The Wolverines (13-20, 6-5) were led by three hits from Greyson Bogden while the Broncs (15-22, 5-6) got a complete game shutout from Blake English on a night his offense finished with 13 hits. UTPA used a four-run third and a six-run seventh to win big.

English improved to 3-2 with the win, allowing five hits while striking out four. Ryan Evans (2-3) took the loss for Utah Valley.

The Wolverines squandered a chance to get back in to the game in the bottom of the fourth down 6-0. Sean Moysh reached on an error and Mark Krueger doubled off the wall to put runners on second and third with nobody out, but UVU was unable to score.

Utah Valley will try and salvage a game in the series with the finale set for noon MT. Danny Beddes will start on the mound for the Wolverines.
