OREM, Utah --- Utah Valley University had four different goal scorers while
Aaron Meyer dished out three assists in a 4-1 win over Incarnate Word in WAC men's soccer on Thursday night at Clyde Field.
The Wolverines (13-4-1, 6-2-1) moved to 19 points with the win and stayed in the hunt for the WAC regular season title. UVU now needs Incarnate Word (8-7-0, 4-5-0) to either tie or win at Seattle U on Sunday to keep that hope alive. UVU and Seattle U close out the regular season next Saturday, Nov. 7 at Clyde Field.
"This game was huge. It was a championship game approach for us. We had to win tonight to put pressure on Seattle and to put pressure on UNLV," said UVU head coach
Greg Maas. "Overall our performance was fantastic. I thought from back-to-front and front-to-back we were outstanding. Our possession was good; we were very cohesive, very collected."
Skyler Milne scored his team-leading eighth goal in the 11th minute to get the Wolverines on the board. The goal came off a Meyer free kick that was deflected into the goalmouth, where Milne put it in on a header with his back to goal.
Paul Hoffmeister gave UVU a 2-0 lead in the 28th minute, intercepting a pass and scoring from just inside the top of the 18 into the lower right corner. The goal was Hoffmeister's sixth of the season.
Donnett Sackie scored his first career goal in the 42nd minute, getting a slick pass from Meyer into the box and scoring into the right corner of the goal after beating the keeper to the ball.

Incarnate Word scored in the 52nd minute when Dylan Kelly directed an O'Neal Moore pass into the right corner with Noah Keats also assisting on the play.
Austin Buxton gave Utah Valley a 4-1 advantage just over 10 minutes later, in the 63rd minute, when he took a pass from Meyer, dribbled into the box and scored into the side netting for his sixth goal of the season.

The Wolverines had a big 17-3 edge in total shots including 11 on goal, while the Cardinals only shot on frame coming on Kelly's goal.
Meyer's three assists set a new single-game school record and also gave him a WAC-leading 11, tied for second in the country in total assists. Utah Valley will now be off until the season finale against Seattle U.
