Konner Frey led five players in double figures with 17 points to lead the Utah Valley University men's basketball team to an 89-60 win over Great Falls Saturday night in the team's home opener at the UCCU Center.

"It feels really good to come back after last night and get a win," said Utah Valley head coach
Mark Pope. "It feels good because our guys are getting better and improving. Our guys took everything we talked about after the game last night and really tried to implement those things tonight. We feel good and hopeful and we'll keep that going. We really have a chance to keep growing and that's what I'm most excited about."

Leading 23-22 with 8:06 to play in the first half, Utah Valley used a 23-8 run to take a 46-30 lead into the break. The Wolverines continued to build on their lead in the second half as UVU went on a 15-6 run to take a 74-46 advantage with 10:51 to play. The Wolverines continued to extend its lead the remainder of the final period to secure the win.

Frey scored his 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field, including a 1-of-2 clip from long range. The junior forward was one rebound shy of a double-double with nine. He also registered two assists, two blocks and two steals.

Marcel Davis tallied 15 points on a 6-of-8 clip from the floor. Davis also dished out a game-high five assists and pulled down five rebounds.
Ivory Young recorded his second-straight double-digit performance with 13 points. Young also had five rebounds and five assists.

Telly Davenport and
Darrious Hamilton were also in double digits with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Andrew Bastien and
Alex Carr each pulled down double figure rebounds. Bastien tallied 11 boards, while Carr pulled down 10. The Wolverines out-rebounded Great Falls 56-24 on the night.

The Wolverines knocked down 56.9 percent (37-of-65) of their shots from the field while holding Great Falls to a 37.9 percent (25-of-66) clip.

Lamar Falley led Great Falls with 17 points, knocking down 7-of-15 shots from the floor.

Utah Valley now heads to Colorado to take on the University of Denver on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN 960 AM radio with Jim McCulloch handling the play-by-play duties.
