Utah Valley runs past Antelope Valley, 104-60

OREM, UtahJaden Jackson scored a career-high 21 points and four other Wolverines scored in double figures to lead the Utah Valley University men's basketball team to a 104-60 win over Antelope Valley Friday night at the PE Building.  
 
With the win, Utah Valley evens its record at 2-2. The Wolverines remain perfect at home this season with a 2-0 mark.
 
The 104 points ranks as the third-highest single game point total in UVU Division I history. The Wolverines scored 123 points at Chicago State in 2009 and recorded 107 points at North Dakota in 2011. UVU's 38 made field goals also ranks third on the single game field goals made chart.
 
"Our guys looked really good tonight," said Utah Valley head coach Mark Pope. "We were really aggressive and shared the ball well. We attacked really hard and made that extra pass which is something we didn't have in Denver. We really saw the fruit of some hard work tonight."
 
Leading 15-13 with 13:26 to play in the first half, Utah Valley went on a 17-2 run to take a 32-15 advantage with 9:32 remaining in the half. The Wolverines continued to extend the lead throughout the remainder of the game to secure the win.
 
Jackson scored his career-high 21 points on an 8-of-14 shooting from the field, including a 3-of-4 clip from long range. The senior guard also knocked down a pair of free throws and pulled down two rebounds.
 
Darrious Hamilton recorded a career high with 15 point on a career-high 6-of-9 shooting, and a 3-of-3 clip from the charity stripe. Konner Frey and Marcel Davis also chipped in 15 points apiece. Davis also dished out a game-high six assists, pulled down six rebounds and tallied four steals.
 
Cory Cardwell recorded a career-high 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting, including a career-high four made shots from beyond the arc. Dayon Goodman and Tyler Ott also registered career highs in scoring with nine and seven points, respectively. Alex Carr recorded his second double digit rebounding game of the season with a career-high 11 boards.
 
Utah Valley shot an impressive 56.7 percent (38-of-67) from the field and 48.0 percent (12-of-25) clip from three-point range. The Wolverines out-rebounded UAV 45-22 on the night and held the Pioneers to a 38.2 percent (21-of-55) shooting performance.
 
Franky Teran led Antelope Valley with 16 points, while Kadeem Minor helped with 13.
 
Utah Valley continues non-conference play at Utah State on Tuesday night. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. MST. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN 960 AM radio.
