UVU DOWNS UMKC, ADVANCES TO WAC TOURNAMENT TITLE MATCH AGAINST SEATTLE UKali Stubbs scored two goals to lead the Utah Valley University women's soccer team to a 2-0 win over Missouri-Kansas City Friday in the semifinals of the WAC Tournament at Main Soccer Field. With the win, Utah Valley (13-6-1) advances to Sunday's championship match to take on Seattle U. A win on Sunday would secure the Wolverines the WAC's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
Stubbs scored her fifth and sixth goals of the season to help UVU secure the victory. The senior forward got UVU on the scoreboard in the 50th minute as
Breanna McCarter made a pass from the left side to Stubbs, who one-touched it off the corner of the post and into the back of the net for the score.
Stubbs gave the Wolverines a 2-0 advantage in the 72nd minute after curling the ball inside the far post from the left edge of the 18.
Taylor Kirk was credited with an assist on the goal.
WAC Defensive Player of the Year
Jessica Duffin led the defensive effort for UVU as she picked up her seventh shutout of the season. Duffin tallied seven saves in the shutout to help extend her UVU all-time shutouts mark to 16.
Utah Valley will play for the WAC Tournament championship on Sunday at 1 p.m. PT/2 p.m. MST. The Wolverines will face the winner of tonight's semifinal match between Seattle U and CSU Bakersfield.
"This is what you compete for," said Anderson. "Day after day you train and compete to have the opportunity like this. These girls have worked very hard and have been focused on an opportunity and the work that it takes to get to this point. We will celebrate tonight and start the recovery process and will be ready to play on Sunday."
UVU AT THE WAC TOURNAMENTThe Wolverines hold an all-time 2-2 record at the WAC Tournament since joining the league in 2013. Utah Valley picked up its first-ever tournament victory last season in a 2-1 overtime win over UTRGV. The team picked up its second tournament victory Friday against UMKC.

WOLVERINES RECEIVE NUMEROUS POSTSEASON HONORS AT WAC AWARDS BANQUETThe Utah Valley University women's soccer team was well represented at the WAC awards banquet Wednesday night as six Wolverines received all-WAC honors. Senior goalkeeper
Jessica Duffin was named WAC Defensive Player of the Year and head coach
Brent Anderson received WAC Coach of the Year honors.
Duffin becomes the third-straight UVU player to earn WAC Defensive Player of the Year honors. The Wolverines have earned the award each year since joining the WAC in 2013. Duffin is UVU's all-time career shutouts leader with 15 career clean sheets. The senior keeper has six shutouts, 60 saves and a 1.29 goals allowed average this season.

Coach
Brent Anderson earned WAC Coach of the Year honors for the first time in his career. Anderson led UVU to a 7-2-1 WAC record and a second place finish this season. He holds a 99-92-11 overall record in 10 seasons with Utah Valley.
UVU AMONG NATIONAL AND WAC STAT LEADERSAs of Nov. 7, Utah Valley leads the WAC in points (134), goals per game (2.25), assists (44) and assists per game (2.20). Individually,
Kasandra Anderson ranks second in the WAC in assists (8) and assists per game (0.40).
Sheridan Fox ranks tied for fifth in the WAC with eight goals.
Jessica Duffin ranks second in the WAC with seven shutouts. Duffin also ranks fourth in goals against average with a 1.23 average.
Nationally, the Wolverines rank in the top-20 in five statistical categories. As of Nov. 5, Utah Valley ranks 14th nationally in total assists (42), 17th in total goals (43), and 17th in total points (128). The team also ranks 18th in points per game (6.74), 17th in assists per game (2.21), and 21st in scoring offense (2.26). Individually,
Kasandra Anderson holds the highest national ranking on the team as she ranks 34th nationally with eight total assists. She also ranks 48th in assists per game at 0.42 per match.

Brent Anderson is just one win away from hitting the century mark. The 10th-year head coach currently holds a 99-92-11 career record. Anderson holds an impressive 58-15-3 conference mark in his 10 years at UVU, and is 21-9-2 in conference play since joining the WAC.

ABOUT SEATTLE UUtah Valley will take on Seattle U for the 11th time on Sunday afternoon. The Wolverines are seeking their first-ever win over the Redhawks as Seattle U holds an all-time 9-0-1 advantage over UVU. Utah Valley went 0-1-1 against SU this season, picking up its first-ever tie against the Redhawks in a 1-1 equalizer in Orem. The two teams have only met on a neutral field one time with SU taking a 2-0 win on Aug. 28, 2009 in Moscow, Idaho. Seattle U won its third-straight WAC regular season title this year and earned the No. 1 seed at this year's tournament. The Redhawks defeated tournament host CSU Bakersfield 2-0 on Friday night to advance to Sunday's championship match against UVU. Seattle U holds the nation's longest unbeaten streak at 16 matches.
