OREM, Utah – The Utah Valley University softball will head to Provo for its regular season finale against BYU on Tuesday at Gail Miller Field. The contest will not only mark UVU's final regular season game but also its final tune-up before this week's WAC Softball Tournament that will run May 7-9 in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Tuesday's non-conference contest against the neighboring Cougars will be the rubber match in the season series as each team holds a win over one another so far in 2015. UVU took the opener, 13-0 on March 21, behind a no-hitter from sophomore Bailey Moore while BYU rebounded to take the April 7 contest by a score of 9-2.

First pitch for Tuesday's ballgame will begin at 5 p.m. and the contest will be televised live on BYUtv. Live stats will also be available by visiting BYUCougars.com, while live audio can be found at WolverineGreen.com.

The Wolverines (16-38, 3-12 WAC) be looking to snap a nine-game skid on Tuesday after dropping both games of a two-game non-conference series at No. 5 Oklahoma over the weekend. The Sooners limited the UVU offense to just two hits in the opener as they went on to take the first game 13-0. OU's Paige Parker then retired all 15 Wolverine batters in the series finale as she pitched her fourth perfect game of the year en route to a 14-0 run-rule victory.

Prior to the two-game set at Oklahoma, UVU dropped all three games of its final WAC series against Missouri-Kansas City to finish the conference series in sixth place with a 3-12 league record. With Grand Canyon being ineligible for postseason play, the Wolverines have earned the five seed and will open WAC Tournament play against No. 4 Seattle U on Thursday, May 7 at 11 a.m. The winner of that contest will advance on to play the top seed and host New Mexico State Aggies while the loser will drop to an elimination game against either No. 2 UMKC or No. 3 CSU Bakersfield.

In the two-game series at OU, freshman Jaylen Watson tied the single-season UVU walk record by drawing her 27th free pass of the season. Watson will enter this week's contests just one walk shy of breaking Cari Hamilton's mark that she set back in 2007.

Sophomore Brianna Gatlin paces the Wolverine offense with a .338 average while Watson is right behind her with a .315 clip and a team-best 11 home runs. Sophomore Brittney Vansway leads the way in runs batted in with 33 while fellow sophomore Bailey Moore is tops in the circle for the Wolverines with a 10-19 record and a 5.33 ERA.

About BYU
The Cougars (37-10, 12-0 WCC) will enter Tuesday's in-state contest having won 17 of their last 19 ballgames. By sweeping fellow West Coast Conference foe Santa Clara on the road last weekend, BYU has already clinched its seventh straight conference title and its 11th consecutive berth to the NCAA Tournament. Following Tuesday's game, Brigham Young will head to Los Angeles to conclude its regular season with a WCC series at Loyola Marymount.

Gordy Bravo leads the Cougars offensively with a .464 batting average and 45 runs scored. Lacey Hofstedt is next with a .441 clip and 23 stolen bases. McKenna Bull anchors the BYU pitching staff with a 32-7 record and a 1.99 ERA. Bull recently tied a program record with her 32nd victory against Santa Clara last weekend.

BYU will enter Tuesday holding a 31-4 all-time series advantage over UVU. The Wolverines did, however, pick up their first-ever win over the Cougars in Provo earlier this season and will look to win the season series for the first time on Tuesday.

Up Next for the Wolverines
UVU will head to Las Cruces on Wednesday for the 2015 WAC Championships that will run May 7-9 at New Mexico State's NM State Softball Complex. The Wolverines won last year's conference tournament to earn the school's inaugural bid for a team sport to the NCAA Tournament.
