ABOUT THE OPPOSITIONUtah State (2-0-0) comes to Orem undefeated with shutout wins against both Central Arkansas 1-0 and Missouri State 3-0. The Aggies have outshot their opponents a combined 25-16. USU has won five of the six meetings all-time between the programs including both games that have been played in Orem. The last time the teams met was during the 2013 season.
"Against Utah State our team will need to bring more energy, play a technically cleaner game and run up the tempo to be successful," head coach
Brent Anderson said. "Utah State is well coached, and we are very familiar with their team, they are athletic and defensively very difficult to break down."

Montana (1-0-1) comes off two matches with a scoreless tie against Wyoming and a 4-3 double-overtime win over Indiana State. Sunday's contest with UVU will be the last leg of a two-game road trip for the Grizzlies who will be coming to Orem after facing the University of Nevada on Friday night in Reno. Montana holds a 3-2 series advantage over the Wolverines in five games all-time.
"Montana is very fit and they bring a lot of energy to the field. In addition to being disciplined defensively, they are attackers and have some dangerous players," Anderson said. "Sunday games are difficult after only one day of rest, even moreso after an intense in-state matchup on Friday night, we will have to focus and step up our energy for Montana."
UP NEXTFollowing the weekend's matches, Utah Valley will be on the road with matches at UNLV (Sept. 4) and at Southern Utah (Sept. 6).
