DENVER – Utah Valley University's bid to end the nation's longest home winning streak was thwarted by a 94th-minute goal in No. 15 Denver's 2-1 overtime win on Sunday night at CIBER Field.

Alex Underwood scored the golden goal for the Pioneers (6-0-1) to extend their unbeaten streak at home to 22 matches (20 wins). Denver is ranked No. 1 in the NSCAA West Region poll with Utah Valley ranked No. 3.

With the UVU (6-2-0) trailing 1-0 in the second half, freshman Aaron Meyer scored the equalizer in the 70th minute. His third goal of the season, Meyer found the bottom right of the goal from 10 yards out on a Karson Payton assist.

"Denver is a solid side, especially at home. That said, our response after going down a goal was first-class," UVU head coach Greg Maas said. "We were deserving of an equalizer, and I couldn't be more proud of our team tonight. That was our sixth match on the road, our players are exhausted, and I know they look forward to returning home to our 12th Wolverines at Clyde Field."

Denver's first goal came in the 25th minute on a free kick by Karsten Hanlin from 20 yards out. Underwood's game-winner was assisted by Chandler Crosswait and Tosh Samkange.

The loss is UVU's first in overtime this season, where the team had been 2-0 to this point. It also moves Utah Valley's all-time record against ranked opponents to 1-2-1, with both losses coming in extra time.

Collin Partee had four saves in goal with UVU also recording a team save when Giovanny Vazquez turned back a would-be goal. Dan Jackson had two saves for Denver.

Utah Valley returns home to Clyde Field on Thursday for the Homecoming match against Cal State Fullerton. The Titans are the reigning Big West Tournament champions. The match is slated for a 7 p.m. start. Tickets can be purchased online at Smith's Tix.
