MaWhinney's double-double was just the third of the season, with the first two coming from senior
Sam Loggins. Loggins averages 10.2 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per contest. Sophomore

"We have another opportunity to prove ourselves on this road trip this week against two really good teams," head coach
Cathy Nixon said. "Seattle U is coming off of a great road win and are having a great, competitive season. They shoot the ball really well and will be a defensive challenge for us. Traditionally we match up well against the Redhawks, and our team is starting to play better so we will be able to compete. Bakersfield is a good team. Their preseason record does not represent their talent accurately, because this is a very good team, but I know we are ready for the challenge."
SEEING REDHAWKSSeattle U split their roadtrip last weekend, falling to NMSU at the Pan American Center and then picking up a win over UTRGV, delivering the Vaqueros their first conference loss of the season. The Redhawks have three scorers averaging in double digits, with Taelor Ross leading the way at 12.6 points per game. Tal Sahar is right behind with 11.0 points per contest, and Kaylee Best averages 10.9 points.
The win at UTRGV broke a two-game losing streak for Seattle U and bumped them to third place in the conference, standing behind a 3-2 WAC record. Seattle U picked up their two other conference wins at home also over UMKC and Chicago State.
Utah Valley has picked up just one win over Seattle U all-time, with the Redhawks leading the series 5-1 overall. UVU split last year's contests with Seattle, each team winning on their home court. Utah Valley defeated Seattle U 73-42 on Feb. 7, after dropping their WAC opener in Washington 73-58 in the 2014-15 season.
CHASING THE ROADRUNNERSCSUB dropped their previous two contests at UTRGV and New Mexico State last week, but will see Grand Canyon on Thursday evening before taking on the Wolverines on Saturday afternoon. Bakersfield picked up their two WAC victories at home over Chicago State and Seattle U in January.
WAC second team preseason selection Batabe Zempare paces the Runners at 10.8 per game, and is chased by Alyssa Shannon with a 10.2 point scoring average. Zempare also boasts an impressive 9.2 rebound per game average.
Bakersfield leads the overall series 8-3, claiming the last contest in Bakersfield 78-53. The Wolverines defeated the Runners last season at home 70-58 on Feb. 5.
The contest against Seattle U will be broadcast live on the WAC Digital Network, while the contest at Bakersfield can be found on the RoadRunner Sports Network.
