SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah—The Wolverine Club Golf Classic was held Wednesday at Talons Cove Golf Club in Saratoga Springs, Utah. A full field of 132 golfers took part in the 23rd annual event with all proceeds benefitting the Utah Valley University student-athlete scholarship fund.
Â
Coaches and student-athletes from each of UVU's 16 NCAA Division I sports were on hand, interacting with Wolverine Club members with games, giveaways, tips, and encouragement. In all, over $25,000 was raised to benefit Wolverine athletics.
Â
"It's another great day to be a Wolverine," Utah Valley athletic director
Vince Otoupal said. "The money that we raised today for our student-athletes is incredible. We are grateful to everyone that participated today. We had a record-breaking historic season last year and I know we will build on last year's success to make this year even better. We continue to reach new heights and have our sights set on another fantastic year."
Â
The UCCU group (Brad Norton, Francis Gibson, Kendrick Gibson, Val Peterson) and the Lowell Bodily group tied for first place with each foursome shooting a 56. The UCCU group won the tie-breaker to take home the Wolverine Classic hardware.
