OREM, Utah – Former Utah Valley University men's basketball student-athlete Ryan Toolson is enjoying success after college as a longtime professional basketball player. Learn more about Toolson's professional athletic career in this week's Wolverine Club Scholar Feature.

Toolson played at Utah Valley during the 2003-04 season before serving an LDS Church mission in Guatemala from 2004-06. He then returned to play for the Wolverines from 2006-09.

He is UVU's all-time leading scorer with 2,163 points—a record that may never be broken. Toolson was tabbed the 2007-08 NCAA Division I All-Independent Player of the Year and was also a three-time NCAA Division I All-Independent first team performer as a Wolverine. He also holds eight other UVU career records, as well as a single-game record 63-point performance in a four-overtime victory at Chicago State during his senior year. He was also the national leader in free-throw percentage three years in a row. Â

Toolson just wrapped up his 12th season as a professional having played for teams in Spain, Turkey, Russia, and Italy. His European accolades include a Turkish League All-Star appearance, All-Turkish League honors, All Spanish ACB honors, Spanish ACB All-Imports team honors, Spanish Liga Endesa All-Imports team honors, All-VTB League honors, and VTB League All-Imports team honors.Â
