OREM--The Utah Valley women's soccer team looks to keep its unbeaten home streak alive as the Wolverines host in-state rival Utah on Friday at 7 p.m. The Wolverines will also travel to play Idaho State on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Utah Valley enters Friday's matchup against Utah with a 4-3-0 overall record. The Wolverines dropped a pair of matches last week on its Rocky Mountain roadtrip as the team lost a 1-0 decision at Wyoming before taking a 1-0 loss at Colorado College. Â
With the score tied 0-0 and just 10 seconds remaining in the second and final overtime period, Wyoming's Alisha Bass scored off a corner kick to lift the Cowgirls to the 1-0 win in Laramie. UVU gave up a goal in the 83rd minute to take the loss at Colorado College.

Alexis Peterson leads the Wolverines with three goals and six points on the year. Six other Wolverines have each scored at least one goal this season. Freshman

ABOUT UTAH
Utah brings a 4-2-0 record to Clyde Field on Friday night. The Utes head into Friday's match fresh off a 3-1 win at North Dakota State on Sunday. Utah's only losses of the season were a 3-0 setback at Minnesota and a 2-0 loss at home to 10th-ranked BYU. Three of Utah's four wins this season have been shutouts. Utah has tallied 13 goals this season while limiting opponents to just six (1.00 per match). Sophomore forward Hailey Skolmoski leads the Utes with five goals this year. She also has a pair of assists and leads the team with 12 points. Sophomore midfielder Eden Jacobsen has two goals this year, while five other players each have one. Carly Nelson and July Mathias have split time in goal this season for Utah with each holding a 2-1-0 record in the box. Utah is coached by Rich Manning who is in his 15th season with the team. Manning holds an all-time 157-105-39 record at Utah.
SERIES HISTORY VS. UTAH
Utah Valley and Utah meet on the pitch for the seventh time on Friday night with Utes holding a 6-0-0 all-time series advantage. Utah Valley and Utah meet on the Clyde Field pitch for just the second time in the two team's history. Utah took a 6-0 win over Utah Valley in the only meeting at Clyde Field on Oct. 3, 2007. The two teams most recently met in 2014 with the Utes taking a 4-0 win in Salt Lake.
ABOUT IDAHO STATE
Idaho State closes out a five-match home stand against Utah Valley on Sunday at Davis Field. The Bengals enter the week with a 3-5-0 overall record. The team went 1-1-0 at home last week, defeating Sam Houston State 1-0 before falling to New Mexico State, 3-0. The Bengals will host UC Irvine on Thursday afternoon before welcoming Utah Valley to Davis Field on Sunday. Two of ISU's three wins this season have come at Davis Field. The Bengals have scored 10 goals this season, an average of 1.25 per match. Idaho State scored four of its 10 goals in a 4-2 win over Houston Baptist in the team's home opener. Freshman forward Michaela Didericksen leads the team with three goals this year. Shawna Hennings leads the Bengals in the box, tallying 25 saves with a pair of shutout wins. The Bengals are coached by Allison Gibson who is in her 11th season with the team. She owns a 74-101-21 overall record at ISU.
SERIES HISTORY VS. IDAHO STATE
Utah Valley and Idaho State meet on the pitch for the 12th time in the two team's history. Idaho State holds an all-time 5-4-2 record advantage over the Wolverines. Utah Valley has won four of the last five matches, including a 5-1 win in Orem last season. ISU holds a 3-2-0 series advantage at Davis Field. The Wolverines have won the previous two matches at Davis Field, defeating ISU 5-1 in 2011 and 4-2 in 2013.
HOME SWEET CLYDE FIELD - UNBEATEN STREAK AT 12 MATCHES
Utah Valley has enjoyed an impressive 19-2-3 at Clyde Field over the past two seasons. The Wolverines hold an all-time 64-32-9 mark at home since UVU became a Division I member in 2003. UVU went unbeaten at home last season with a 9-0-1 record. The team extended its Clyde Field unbeaten streak to 12 matches with its win over UNLV on Sept. 2. The Wolverines ranked 24th (1,074 per game) nationally in attendance at Clyde Field last season. UVU already ranks ninth in the nation in attendance after welcoming an average of 1,594 fans through the gates though two home matches this year.
UVU RANKED NO. 9 IN NSCAA TOP-10 WEST REGION POLL
Utah Valley entered the NSCAA West Regional Top-10 rankings two weeks ago at No. 10. The Wolverines moved up to the No. 8 spot last week with its win over UNLV. UVU falls one spot to No. 9 this week after its two road losses last week at Wyoming and Colorado College.

KIRK ENTERS ALL-TIME UVU CAREER CHARTS
Senior forward
Taylor Kirk ranks in the top-10 in three different all-time UVU career statistical rankings. Kirk is tied for fourth all time with six game-winning goals, just two away from the all-time best mark of eight. She ranks 10 all-time in points with 33 and also ranks 10th in careers assists with nine.
UVU DROPS PAIR OF MATCHES ON ROCKY MOUNTAIN ROAD SWING
Utah Valley dropped a pair of matches on its Rocky Mountain road swing last week. The Wolverines opened play in the Rocky Mountains at Wyoming where the Cowgirls scored in the final 10 seconds of the second overtime off a corner kick to secure a 1-0 victory. UVU out-shot Wyoming 16-10, including a 7-5 advantage on goal. After playing to a 0-0 tied through 82 minutes of play, Colorado College's Clara Richter chipped a ball over a pair of UVU defenders and into the net for the game's only goal in a 1-0 setback to Colorado College. The two losses marks only the third time in the last three seasons that UVU has dropped back-to-back matches.
UVU'S NIELSEN NAMED WAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Brooklyn Nielsen has been named the Western Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for her play Aug. 22-28. The honor marks the first-ever WAC Player of the Week honor for Nielsen. Nielsen, a freshman from Sandy, Utah (Jordan HS), helped the Wolverines to a pair of shutout wins this past week. Nielsen made her first career start in a 1-0 shutout road victory over Oklahoma. She helped UVU snap OU's 11-match unbeaten streak at home with the win. Nielsen faced 12 OU shots and made a pair of late saves to secure the victory. She also had a pair of saves in the second half of UVU's 2-0 win over in-state rival Southern Utah on Friday night.
LOOKING AHEAD
Utah Valley closes out the month of September with a rare Monday afternoon match against Grand Canyon on Sept. 26. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Clyde Field.
