UVU continues season at BYU Robison Invitational Thursday

OREM, Utah – Utah Valley men's and women's track and field will make the crosstown trek to compete in the BYU Robison Invitational this weekend on April 27-29 at Clarence F. Robison Track.

The Wolverines open the meet on Thursday with the start of the heptathlon at noon, followed by a 12:15 p.m. start for the decathlon. UVU continues the meet on Friday with the final heptathlon and decathlon events at 10 a.m., as well as field events beginning at noon and women's and men's 100 meter and 200 meter trials at 2 p.m.

"Our guys and girls are looking pretty good heading into the weekend," said UVU head coach Scott Houle. "BYU always puts on a great competition at their home track. Our goal is to use this meet as a tune-up and get past some of our marks. We are looking to keep preparing for the conference championships and get stronger and deeper as a whole, so this weekend's meet will be good to help us improve."

Saturday's portion of the meet begins at 9 a.m. with the remaining throwing and jumping events. All running events will pick up with the women's and men's 3,000-meter steeplechase on Saturday at 11 a.m., while the finals for the sprints and relays will wrap up the three-day invitational.

Also scheduled to participate in the meet are in-state opponents Utah, Utah State, Southern Utah, Weber State and Westminster along with Gem State rival Idaho State. On the women's side, the Wolverines will be squaring off against No. 18 in the nation in host BYU.

The meet at crosstown rival BYU marks one of two remaining for UVU before the 2017 WAC Outdoor Championships in McAllen, Texas.

Live results to the meet will be posted on runnercard.com for each event throughout the weekend. Final results can be found on WolverineGreen.com upon completion of all events.
