OREM, Utah – Utah Valley University men's soccer coach
Greg Maas has announced the signing of Din Huremovic to a National Letter of Intent. Huremovic will join the Wolverines next fall for the 2019 season.
A senior at Olympus High School in Holladay, Utah, Huremovic (Salt Lake City) has twice been named All-State in his prep career and will compete in his senior season this coming spring. He also plays club soccer for Impact United.
"Din is your prototypical No. 9 — he's explosive, skillful, excellent in the air, and is a precise finisher," UVU head coach
Greg Maas said. "Din fits our system perfectly, and I have high expectations for him to make an immediate impact. His movement off of the ball, and natural goal-scoring instinct, will be a welcomed addition to an already exciting team for 2019."
Huremovic will join four student-athletes who originally signed in 2017: Aidan Dayton (Elk Ridge, Utah), Sam Hess (Pleasant Grove, Utah), Aaron Nixon (West Jordan, Utah) and Ian Stonehocker (Mapleton, Utah). The four are currently serving LDS missions. Dayton, Hess and Stonehocker will return and enroll in the spring at UVU.
The Wolverines will also return two other missionaries in 2019 in Aaron Meyer and Mckay Eves. Meyer will be a junior and led the WAC and ranked among the nation's leaders in assists in his first two seasons at UVU. Both Meyer and Eves were part of the U.S. Men's National Team program and were the No. 7 and No. 10-rated players, respectively, in the country as high school seniors.
In addition to those seven, Maas is also anticipating the return of two injured seniors from 2018 in defender
Aaron Caprio and goalkeeper
Mitch Jensen. Jensen was the first-team All-WAC goalkeeper on the Wolverines' 2016 WAC Championship team.
