OREM, Utah -- Utah Valley University junior forward
Blake Frischknecht was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Far West Region third team on Wednesday after leading the Wolverines with six goals this past season.
"It's on honor for Blake to be selected to the All-Region Team and his teammates can share in the recognition as well," UVU head coach
Greg Maas said. "Looking forward, I'm excited for Blake's senior year, and I'm confident we will have more players recognized from Utah Valley in 2019."
The Las Vegas, Nevada native, who was also named to the All-WAC second team earlier in the fall, had a goal and an assist in the season-opening, 4-0 win over Evansville and later had game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory against UT Rio Grande Valley.
This marks the 11th time that a Utah Valley player has received All-Region honors, which are voted on by head coaches from the region. The Far West region consists of schools from the WAC, Pac 12 and Big West Conference.
