SALT LAKE CITY—Former Utah Valley guard/forward
Kenneth Ogbe was invited back for his second pre-draft workout for the Utah Jazz today in Salt Lake City. Ogbe also worked out for the Jazz last week in preparation for next month's NBA Draft.
Â
"Kenneth has a skill set that kind of translates to the NBA," said Utah Jazz Vice President of Player Personnel Walt Perrin. "He could be one down the road that might be able to make it if he doesn't make it huge overseas with his German passport and nationality."
Â
The 6-foot-7, 190-pound guard recently wrapped up his college career at Utah Valley where he led the Wolverines to their most successful season in program history. Ogbe helped UVU to a school-record 23 wins and a second-straight national postseason appearance in the College Basketball Invitational during the 2017-18 season. He also helped the Wolverines to a school-record 16-1 record at home. UVU's No. 91 ranking on KenPom.com is the best end-of-season ranking in UVU history.
Â
The Munich, Germany native earned first team All-WAC honors after averaging a team-best 13.7 points for the Wolverines during the 2017-18 season. He also averaged 3.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 0.8 steals per game. Ogbe shot 48.2 percent (150-of-311) from the field and connected on a 42.9 percent (67-of-156) clip from three-point range.
Â
Although it didn't all come during his time at UVU, Ogbe surpassed the 1,000-point mark in his career. Ogbe compiled an impressive 1,014 points in his collegiate career, scoring 802 of those points at UVU. He scored the other 212 points at Utah.
Â
In his two years at Utah Valley, Ogbe registered a 41.9 percent (161-of-384) clip from beyond the arc, which is the second-best career mark in UVU history. His 12.2 career scoring average at UVU ranks sixth all-time at the school. His 802 points rank him 10th on UVU's all-time scoring list.
Â
Ogbe worked out on Tuesday with five other collegiate players at the Utah Jazz pre-draft workout, including Sedrick Barefield (Utah). Dayon Goodman (Westminster), Tyler Rawson (Utah), Kameron Chatman (Detroit), and Ryan Richardson (Weber State).
