UTAH VALLEY ENTERS WAC TOURNAMENT PLAY AS NO. 2 SEED, WILL TAKE ON NO. 3 KANSAS CITY IN SEMIFINALS
The Utah Valley University women's soccer team travels to the Evergreen State this week to compete in the WAC Tournament at Championship Field on the campus of Seattle U. The Wolverines earned the No. 2 seed and a bye into Friday's semifinal match against No. 3 Kansas City, which advanced to Friday's match after defeating Grand Canyon, 2-0, in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
Utah Valley (10-8-1) has won two of its last three matches and three of its last five. The Wolverines enter tournament play fresh off a double overtime 3-2 loss at Seattle U on Saturday night. The team remained in Seattle for this week's tournament.
The Wolverines hold an all-time 6-4-1 record at the WAC Tournament since joining the league in 2013. Utah Valley went 1-1 at the tournament last year with a 2-1 win over Grand Canyon in the quarterfinals and a 3-0 loss to Kansas City in the semis.
Amber Tripp and
Julianna Carter lead the Wolverines in scoring this season with six goals apiece.
Breanna DeWaal and
Jocelyn Bybee each have four goals, while
Cassidy McCormick and
Jenna Shepherd each have three. Carter leads the Wolverines with 43 shots, including a team-best 27 shots on goal. Tripp leads UVU with five assists and a team-best 17 points.
Allie Jara leads the team in the box with an 10-8-1 record and 4.1 shutouts. She has 55 saves and owns a team-best 1.14 goals against average.
As a team, Utah Valley has netted 36 goals while allowing opponents 25. The Wolverines average 14.3 shots a match with a .517 shots on goal percentage. The Wolverines are holding opponents to a 1.32 goals per game average.
UVU AT THE WAC TOURNAMENT
he Wolverines hold an all-time 6-4-1 record at the WAC Tournament since joining the league in 2013. Utah Valley went 1-1 at the tournament last year with a 2-1 win over Grand Canyon in the quarterfinals and a 3-0 loss to Kansas City in the semis. UVU enters will play a tournament semifinal match for the sixth time in team history. The Wolverines hold a 2-3 record in WAC Tournament semifinal matches.

Friday night's match against Kansas City will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Andrew Harvey and Roland Vargish will be handling the play-by-play and color duties. Rachel Vigil will be on the sidelines for the broadcasts this week.
SIX WOLVERINES EARN ALL-WAC HONORS
Utah Valley was well represented at the Western Athletic Conference awards banquet in Seattle on Tuesday night as six Wolverines received WAC postseason honors.

IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Utah Valley sophomore forward
Julianna Carter ranks 21st in the entire nation in shot accuracy with a .628 mark. She also ranks 47th in the country with four game-winning goals.
Amber Tripp ranks 50th in shot accuracy at .575. As a team, Utah Valley ranks 51st in goals (36), 54th in assists (30), 55th in points (102), and 57th in shots on goal per game (7.21).
CLYDE FIELD MAGIC, UVU RANKS 10TH NATIONALLY IN ATTENDANCE
Utah Valley holds an impressive 82-38-11 all time record at Clyde Field. The team has lost just seven matches over the past five seasons on the home pitch. UVU went 3-4-1 at home in 2018, 5-1-0 in 2017, 5-2-1 during the 2016 season and were unbeaten at home during the 2015 season with a 9-0-1 mark. The Wolverines went an impressive 8-1-1 at home this season. UVU ranks ninth in the nation in attendance this season as the Wolverines average 1,319 fans per game at Clyde Field.
BYU AT UVU IS EIGHTH MOST ATTENDED GAME OF THE SEASON IN THE NATION
Utah Valley's home match against BYU on Sept. 16 ranks as the eighth-most attended game of the season nationally this year. The match drew nearly 4,000 fans to Clyde Field where UVU finished the season with a 8-1-1 record. The attendance of the game against BYU was 3,952.
ABOUT KANSAS CITY
Kansas City enters Sunday's match against Utah Valley with an 13-3-4 overall record and a five-match win streak. The 'Roos have not lost since defeating UVU at home on Oct. 20. Kansas City defeated No. 6 Grand Canyon, 2-0, on Wednesday night in the WAC Tournament quarterfinal match. Senior midfielder Claire Larson scored the game winner and sophomore midfielder Amanda Sampson also scored to lead the 'Roos to the win. Sophomore midfielder/forward Rylan Childers has scored 10 of Kansas City's 31 goals this season. Freshman forward Lindsey Prokop has scored seven. The 'Roos have scored 31 goals while allowing just 17. Erin Roth has played 15 of Kansas City's 20 games in goal. She has 46 saves and has allowed 13 goals. Kansas City has allowed only one goal in its last five matches.

Utah Valley and Kansas City will meet on the pitch for the 13th time on Friday night. Kansas City leads the all-time series 7-5-0. The 'Roos took a 1-0 win earlier during regular season play in Kansas City. Kansas City owns a 2-1 series lead in WAC Tournament matches between the two teams. The 'Roos have won four straight matches against UVU. Utah Valley's last win over Kansas City was a 6-2 victory in Orem on Oct. 22, 2016.
