Jake Bryson shot the second-best 18-hole round in school history during second round play at the 2019 Ram Masters Invitational on Monday, carding a 5-under-par 65. He is tied for sixth place at the tournament with a two-round score of 2-under-par 138 (73-65).

As a team, Utah Valley shot a 14-over-par 574 (292-282). The team sits in ninth place in the 17-team field ahead of Air Force (+18), Pacific (+21), Grand Canyon (+22), Utah State (+24), Houston Baptist (+26), Cal Poly (+30), Wichita State (+36), and Creighton (+41). Tournament host Colorado State leads the tournament at 10-under. Â

"Jake (Bryson) was lights out coming down the stretch today," said Utah Valley head coach
Chris Curran. "He put together a great round. The rest of the guys were solid. We still need to clean up a few silly mistakes."

Bryson shot a two-round score of 2-under-par 138 (73-65). His second-round score of 5-under-par 65 ties him for the second-lowest 18-hole round in UVU history. He ties three other UVU golfers with the 65, including Brayden Eriksen (2014-15, 2011-12), Nick Nelson (2007-08), and Nic Van Vuuren (2004-05). Nick Neal (2007-08) and Cody Powers (2004-05) hold the UVU record with rounds of 64.

Bryson sits in a tie for sixth place in the 96-payer field after two rounds of play. He carded three birdies in round one and an impressive eight birdies in round two.

Gabe Lysen shot a two-round score of 3-over-par 143 (72-71) and is tied for 33rd. The senior golfer had five birdies over his two rounds.
Kai Iguchi is tied for 46th after shooting a two-round 5-over-par 145 (74-71).
Tanner Johnson shot a 13-over-par 153 (78-75) and is in a tie for 82nd.
Brian Sterri rounded out the scoring with an 18-over-par 158 (73-85) and is tied for 91st.
