MORAGA, California -- Nevada scored five early runs en route to a 6-2 win over Utah Valley University on Friday at Saint Mary's College.
Ashley Salausa was 4-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs for the Wolf Pack (2-8). The Wolverines (8-3) got their runs in bottom of the seventh when
Madison Carr reached on a bunt single and scored when
Jade Miller tripled. Miller then scored on a
Basia Query RBI groundout. Carr was 2-for-3 to lead UVU at the plate.
Nevada scored three times in the first, two coming on a two-out single by Lauren Gutierrez. Salausa and Mele Tausinga hit back-to-back solo shots in the third to make it a 5-0 game.
The Wolf Pack earned a split of the season series with Utah Valley, after the Wolverines defeated Nevada on the opening weekend at the Puerto Vallarta Challenge.
The Wolverines are facing host Saint Mary's this afternoon and will also play a doubleheader against the Gaels on Saturday.
