ST. GEORGE, Utah – The Utah Valley University women's golf team finds itself in 10th place out of 15 teams after two rounds of play on Thursday at Southern Utah's Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational at Sunbrook Golf Club in St. George.

The Wolverines recorded scores of 317 and 305 to sit in 10th with a 46-over-par 622. By being in 10th, UVU will enter Friday's final round just seven strokes back of North Dakota State for ninth (615) and eight back of Wyoming and WAC foe Seattle U for seventh (614). The Wolverines will also enter the final round ahead of Idaho State (627), Montana (638), Eastern Washington (639), CSU Bakersfield (649), and WAC and in-state foe Dixie State (653).

Second-year freshman
Victoria Estrada is leading the way for UVU, as she's currently tied for 32nd with a 10-over-par 154. Estrada carded rounds of 76 and 78 on Thursday.

Fellow second-year freshman
Lauren Taylor is just one shot back of Estrada with an 11-over-par 155 to sit in a tie for 35th place. Taylor posted scores of 78 and 77 on the day.Â

Caylyn Ponich and
Anna Lesa are respectively tied for 42nd and 47th at 12-over (81-75—156) and 13-over (82-75—157). Junior
Bailey Henley (83-79—162) and freshman
Macy Robertson (81-81—162), who is playing the event as an individual, are both tied for 65th to round out UVU's competitors at the tournament. Henley was one of five players to record an eagle on the day, as she posted an eagle on the par-4 14th hole during the tournament's opening round.Â

South Dakota State is leading field with a 2-over-par 578 after carding rounds of 286 and 292 on Thursday. Oral Roberts is next at 24-over (600), while WAC foe California Baptist sits in third with a +26 (602).

After carding an impressive opening-round 8-under-par 64 and a 5-under-par 67 in round two, South Dakota State's Teresa Toscano is the individual leader with a 13-under-par 131.Â
