KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Utah Valley redshirt sophomore center Fardaws Aimaq has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division I All-District First Team, the organization announced on Tuesday.
 
Aimaq was named to the District 6 first team, becoming just the third player in UVU history to earn the NABC All-District honor. Holton Hunsaker earned second team honors in 2014 and Jake Toolson was named to the first team in 2019.
 
The Vancouver, British Columbia native became the first NCAA Division I player since 1980 to average 15 or more rebounds per game in a single season. He leads the nation in total rebounds (330), rebounds per game (15.0), defensive rebounds per game (10.68). He also ranks third in offensive boards per game (4.32) and seventh nationally with 14 double-doubles. He led the WAC in blocks per game at 1.7 a contest.
 
Aimaq helped lead Utah Valley to its first WAC regular season title since 2014. He became just the second player in UVU history to earn WAC Player of the Year honors and was the first-ever Wolverine to be named the WAC's Defensive Player of the Year. He was also named First Team All-WAC and to the league's All-Newcomer team. He is also on the Lute Olsen Mid-Major Player of the Year watch list.
 
Along with his 15.0 rebounds per game, Aimaq averaged 13.9 points, ­1.6 assists, and 1.7 blocks per game. He shot 48.5 percent from the field this season.
