SEDONA, Ariz. – The Utah Valley University women's golf team concluded play at Northern Arizona's Red Rocks Invitational on Sunday at Oakcreek Country Club in Sedona with a 19th-place finish.
The Wolverines carded rounds of 317, 324 and 328 to finish in 19th with a 969.
Second-year freshman
Victoria Estrada led the way for UVU by tying for 64th with a 22-over-par 238. Estrada posted rounds of 76, 85 and 77 on her way to being Utah Valley's top finisher at the tournament.
Freshman
Anna Lesa was next by tying for 83rd with a 245 (82-79-84).
Lauren Taylor then followed by taking 86th (79-80-87—246), while
Bailey Henley took 91st (80-84-84—248) and
Caylyn Ponich 101st (90-81-83—254). Playing the event as an individual,
Macy Robertson tied for 83rd with a 245 (85-81-79).
Grand Canyon and Gozaga tied atop the team standings, but WAC foe GCU held the tiebreaker to win the event with a 20-over-par 884 (294-295-295). Fellow WAC rival California Baptist finished third with a 37-over 901 (304-301-296).
GCU's Payton Fehringer claimed individual medalist honors with an 8-under-par 208 (68-73-67).
The event marked UVU's third tournament in the past 10 days.
Utah Valley will next return to Orem before returning to Arizona for the regular-season finale on April 12-13 at Montana State's Bobcat Classic at the Golf Club of Estrella.
