OREM, Utah – The Western Athletic Conference announced the 2023 WAC Volleyball All-Tournament team after the tournament. Utah Valley sophomore outside hitter Avery Shewell earned her first WAC All-Tournament team selection.
 
Shewell finished the tournament with 30 kills in the nine sets and led UVU past UT Arlington in the first match with 14 kills on 27 attacks to finish with a .407 hitting percentage and had three service aces. In UVU's semifinal loss, she added 16 kills, eight digs, and four blocks.
 
The sophomore outside hitter finished the 2023 season, leading Utah Valley in kills with 317 and points with 428.5. She currently sits just outside the top 15 in program history in kills with 588, during her time in Orem, she won WAC Freshman of the Year and is a two-time WAC second-team selection.
