Wolverines open WAC play Wednesday at Seattle U

OPENING TIP
WAC play begins with two early conference games this week as Utah Valley University opens the league schedule on Wednesday at Seattle U. The game tips at 6 p.m. PT/7 p.m. MT and can be seen live on ESPN+.

Kaylee Byon leads the Wolverines (3-2) at 9.8 points per game and has scored season-highs in each of the last two games. In the two contests since coming off the bench to provide the second unit a scoring punch, Byon is averaging 13.5 points per game. Ally Criddle is averaging 8.4 per game while Tessa Chaney leads the team with 5.4 rebounds per contest.

LAST TIME OUT

The Wolverines built an early lead and held off Idaho late in a 66-59 road win last Saturday in Moscow. Criddle matched her career high with 15 points while Byon added 14 and Saige Gibb chipped in 11.

UVU came out of the gate on fire offensively, then used a pair of steals that led to buckets in the final minutes to secure the win over the Vandals. The Wolverines overcame foul trouble throughout the night as they were whistled for 25 fouls compared to 15 against the Vandals. Idaho got to the line 23 times, making 17, while UVU was 7-for-11 from the stripe.

The win at Idaho came after a 76-42 win over Westminster earlier in the week. In that game, Gibb set a new single-game record for UVU, finishing with eight steals. Byon and Jenna Dick led the way in scoring with 13 points apiece while Eleyana Tafisi added 10 points and six assists as the Wolverines assisted on 22 of their 26 made field goals.
