Utah Valley in first place at UC Santa Barbara Intercollegiate, Iguchi tied for second

SANTA BARBARA, Calif.—The Utah Valley men's golf team is in first place at the UC Santa Barbara Intercollegiate at 4-over-par midway through the second round before play was suspended on Monday due to fog. 
 
Utah Valley sits alone in first place at 4-over-par midway through the second round on the 12-team leaderboard. . The Wolverines hold a three-shot lead over second place Cal State Northridge. Utah State is in third at +9. 

"The guys were solid in the morning round," said Utah Valley head coach Chris Curran. "Things got tough with the fog and the guys really focused in and played beautifully. We're hoping we get to finish round two tomorrow. Fog is once again in the forecast. It will be a shortened 36 holes."

Kai Iguchi led Utah Valley on Monday in the Golden State. Iguchi carded a 1-over-par 73 in round one and is 2-under-par through six holes in round two. Iguchi sits in a tie for second place on the 66-player leaderboard at 1-under-par through 24 holes of play. 
 
Joseph Glenn is tied for sixth at 1-over-par through 24 holes of play. Glenn shot a 1-over-par 73 in round one with a pair of birdies. He is now even through six holes in round two before play was suspended. 
 
Caden Weber is also tied for sixth at 1-over-par through 24 holes. Weber carded an even par 72 in round one with three birdies, including two on the front nine. He is now 1-over-par through six holes in round two. 
 
Brady McKinlay is tied for 16th at 3-over-par through 24 holes of play. McKinlay shot a 2-over-par 74 in round one with to back-nine birdies. He is currently 1-over-par through six holes in round two. 
 
Ethan Efford sits at 5-over-par through 24 holes and is tied for 20th on the individual leaderboard. Efford shot a 4-over-par 76 in round one with four birdies. He is currently 1-over-par through six holes in round two. 
 
Evan Lawrence, who is playing individually, is tied for 47th at 11-over-par through 30 holes of play. Lawrence shot a 7-over-par 79 in round one and is 4-over-par through 12 holes in round two. 
 
Round two will resume on Tuesday morning at Sandpiper Golf Club. The final round will immediately follow the conclusion of round two on Tuesday. Live scoring will be available at GolfStat.com.
